The List

2004/2005

You’d be hard pressed to find anything too rough and ready in the New Town, and L’Alba D’Oro is no exception. Indeed, it is that most elusive of beasts; the classy chippy. It may serve fish and chips in the evenings (not lunchtimes), but as well as the usual cod or haddock, there are seasonal options including monkfish or squid. Pizzas are available lunchtimes and evenings, and you can pick up sandwiches, soup and coffee during the lunch rush. On top of that, there are pasta dishes and even a respectable selection of wines.
